I would really like to resolve this issue. It's like my computer has locked itself out of installing Itunes. I'm not sure if my computer is damaged, or if I'm just missing something simple. I've even done a system restore, but that did not seem to affect Itunes. At this point I don't know how to address the issue. Each time I get an error 1053 stating that the service did not start in a timely fashion. I've gone into computer management, headed to services and attempted to start apple mobile device. Each time I get hit with apple mobile device service has stopped. ![]() Regardless, I've had to go through the process of unistalling itunes the programs listed here Remove and Reinstall iTunes and other software components from Windows XP - Apple Support in the proper order, rebooting, deleting old folders, disabling my security software and then installing itunes several times. I was updating Itunes, when I believe it was interrupted by my screen saver (or so I think).
